Closets are coming out of the closet!

I came across a few beautifully decorated CLOSETS today and had to share (yes closets).  I have a hard time with the common areas of my house, much less thinking about how my closets look.  But, I know I feel better when I look in my closet and it is clean and organized.  It makes me happy to start my day able to find all of my stuff instead of last minute searches for clothes and accessories.

I do not think the following beautiful closets are everything I dream about. For one thing they most likely cost a fortune to design.  However, what I really love about them are things that I can add that won't break the bank.

The things I really love about this first example from CocoCozy is the natural light and the chandelier.

DRESSING IT UP!

I can say the same thing about this closet from Canadian House and Home!

I LOVE the color in this dressing room from Apartment Therapy:

From Adore Vintage Home Blog I see a puppy I could instantly fall in love with, and along with him (or her!) I love the color in the rug, the chandelier and the natural light yet again.

What are the two or three things that catch your eye in multiple spaces?  Think of a way to bring those items in to your space with out a complete redo of the space.

I will be re-thinking my own closet in the next few months!

Oh Z'Gallerie how I LOVE thee!

Oh, Z'Gallerie, how I have missed you!  I stopped in their "new" location in Mesa/Gilbert and fell in love with 100 things!  Z'Gallerie had a huge area dedicated to my two favorite colors: aqua and white furniture, accessories and bedding.  Oh lala!

This beautiful blue/grey velvet covered  Pauline sofa and chair were beautiful with a lot of style.  I love the nailhead trim on the front of the arms.

The tufted Ella Sleigh Bed in white is lovely with the aqua and white bedding.

Here is another look at the bed.  Though I love the style, in a smaller room realize the headboard causes the bed to jut out into the room about an additional 9 inches.

While wandering through and looking at the details, my Dad pointed out the only thing in the store he liked; the turtle.  :)

This chair I originally saw in a blog post this week, and wallah!  Here they are!

I LOVE the garden seats!

Here are some of my most favorite accessories!

Children of the 80's...Mint is back.

Everything and anything turquoise, aqua and mint is catching my eye these days. This photo of a buffet painted mint on CocoCozy's blog this morning made me smile! The designer is Hillary Thomas. Love her eye for color.

The second photo shows just a hint of mint with the one vase and lilac in the rug. Watch for lots of lilac this Spring!

A calm and serene sitting area

So, as you can tell, I am lacking some "calm and serene" in my life. With a home full of boys and dogs, sometimes it is difficult to carve out a peaceful corner in the house. This beautiful room designed by Michael Smith, is the perfect get away for an exhausted Mom. The natural light beckons you in to sit with a warm cup of coffee and a really good book.

This may have been for the holiday's, but....

The serene and calming colors in this simple but beautiful bedroom make for the perfect bedroom atmosphere. The original blog post pointed out the wreaths spray painted gold for the holidays but I believe this is perfect all year long!

HGTV has picked my absolute favorite color as color of the month!

I am in heaven perusing all of my favorite blogs and seeing aqua, turquoise and all shades of blue everywhere I look. Today, the blog Design Happens over at HGTV, chose Benjamin Moore's Jamaican Aqua as March's color of the month.

The beautiful armchairs add warmth to the cool tones of the aqua in Patone's color of the year, Honeysuckle (though at first thought, isn't honeysuckle yellow? Just wondering. :) ) Room design by Judith Balis of Nest Interiors.
